PRAYER FOR SELF SUFFICIENCY

ARABIC
اَللَّهُمَّ    نَسْأَلُك
عِلْمًا عِلْمًا نَافِعًا
رِزْقَا رِزْقًا وَاسِعًا
وَلَدًا وَلَدًا صَالِحًا
وَبَرَكَةً    كَثِيْرَة
وَأحْفَظْنَا مِنْ مُصِيْبة
فِى كُلِّ يَوْمٍ وَلَيْلَةٍ

TRANSLITERATION
Allahuma nas'aluka 
Iliman iliman nofihan
Rizikon rizikon wasihan
Walada walada solihan
Wabarakata kethiratan
Wahafasna min kuli musibatin
Fii kuli yaomi wa lailatin.

TRANSLATION
Oh Lord, We are pleading unto you
Give us the knowledge that we want,
Give us the wealth that be fit us and
Extraordinary and wonderful children,
Guide us both day and night
Venerable of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).

ITUMO
Oba Oluwa awa n be o,
Wa fun wa ni mimo to wuwa,
Fun wa ni arisiki ti o ye wa,
Ati Omo alalubarika,
FI iso re sowa losan loru
Lola anobi wa Muhammad (S.A.W)

ﺍﻟﻠَّﻬُﻢَّ ﺃَﻧْﺖَ ﺭَﺑِّﻲ ﻟّﺎ ﺇِﻟَﻪَ ﺇِﻟَّﺎ ﺃَﻧْﺖ، ﺧَﻠَﻘْﺘَﻨِﻲ ﻭَﺃَﻧَﺎ ﻋَﺒْﺪُﻙَ، ﻭَﺃَﻧَﺎ ﻋَﻠَﻰ ﻋَﻬْﺪِﻙَ ﻭَﻭَﻋْﺪِﻙَ ﻣَﺎ ﺍﺳْﺘَﻄَﻌْﺖ، ﺃَﻋُﻮﺫُ ﺑِﻚَ ﻣِﻦْ ﺷَﺮِّ ﻣَﺎ ﺻَﻨَﻌْﺖ، ﺃَﺑُﻮﺀُ ﻟَﻚَ ﺑِﻨِﻌْﻤَﺘِﻚَ ﻋَﻠَﻲَّ، ﻭَﺃَﺑُﻮﺀُ ﺑِﺬَﻧْﺒِﻲ ﻓَﺎﻏْﻔِﺮ ﻟِﻲ ﻓَﺈِﻧَّﻪُ ﻟَﺎ ﻳَﻐْﻔِﺮُ ﺍﻟﺬُّﻧُﻮﺏَ ﺇِﻟَّﺎ ﺃَﻧْﺖ

TRANSLITERATION
*Allahumma anta rabbee la ilaha illa anta, khalaqtanee wa-ana ‘abduka, wa-ana ‘alaa ‘ahdika wawa’dika mas-tata’tu, a’oothu bika min sharri ma sana’tu, aboo-o laka bini’matika ‘alaya, wa-aboo-o bizambee, faghfir lee, fa-innahu la yaghfiruz-zunooba illa ant.*

ENGLISH TRANSLATION
O Allah, You are my Lord, none has the right to be worshiped except You,

You created me and I am Your servant and I abide to Your covenant and promise [to honor it] as best I can,

I take refuge in You from the evil of which I committed.

I acknowledge Your favor upon me and

I acknowledge my sin, so forgive forgive me, for verily none can forgive sin except You.’

The Prophet, Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Aalihi Wa Sallam, added,

_“If somebody recites it during the day with firm faith in it and dies on the same day before the evening, he will be from the people of Paradise and if somebody recites it at night with firm faith in it and dies before the morning he will be from the people of Paradise.”_

[Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 8, Book 75, Number 318]
